Welcome to the Special Education Association of America

Inspiration

Our founder’s firstborn son was diagnosed with autism at two years old. While providing Jameson with the resources he required, they discovered the Special Education community. A community dedicated to helping all children in need. Also, how vital each School district’s Special Education department is in children’s lives, paving the way for their future. Either educationally or simply navigating life skills. Children across our nation need these services. However, departments receive funding very differently based on their state.

Special Education Funding

Special Education is a complex topic that presents unique challenges depending upon the state. Across our Nation, students require essential resources. It varies from specific supplies needed to help students to Special Education professionals. School districts are understaffed and underfunded to provide every student with what they need. Without a specific diagnosis, students are falling through the system not getting the assistance they deserve.Five Ways That States Limit Special Education Spending – Ed Note (ecs.org

Origin

The Special Education Association of America is proud to have originated in Thorp, WA. Thorp School district is where our founder discovered the importance of Special Education in their sons life. Like the town it was founded in, the S.E.A. may be small, albeit with a big mission. The S.E.A. is dedicated to aiding the students of America that desperately need it. Children who need a little help to get back on track to those that require more intensive resources to succeed, encompassing children varying from a large spectrum, with and without diagnoses. Locations for the S.E.A. are in Thorp, WA, and now Pima County, Arizona.
